Example question

“How many of the blue 12" pans can we still sell from the main warehouse?”

  • Finds the item number from the description
  • Reads stock by location: on hand, committed, on PO
  • Answers with what’s available: on hand minus committed
The assistant looks up the item, then reads its stock straight from Sage.
02  /  What it can answer

The questions your team already asks, answered from Sage.

Customers

Customer lookup

Search by name, number, phone or city. See addresses, terms, tax group, credit limit and balance, ship-to addresses, Metabox optional fields and open orders.

Orders

Order history

A customer’s sales orders, newest first, with status, PO number, total, lines still owed and the invoice each one produced. Ask for one order to see its lines.

Inventory

Stock by location

Find an item by number, description, category or part number, then see on hand, committed, available and on order at each location, with the last receipt and shipment dates.

Shipping

Shipment status

Look up a shipment by number, order, customer or carrier tracking number. See its status, ship-via, tracking, the orders it came from and its invoice.

Sales

Sales summaries

Net sales over any date range, grouped by day, month, customer, item, category, salesperson or location. Filter to Metabox POS sales only.

Reports

Sage & Crystal reports

Produce invoices, order confirmations, credit notes, picking slips and POS invoices as PDFs from just a document number, or run any other Sage report.

03  /  How it works

Step by step.

01

Ask a question

Type it the way you’d say it, using customer names and product descriptions.

02

Names become numbers

Metabox matches what you said to the right Sage customer and item numbers first.

03

Metabox reads Sage

Purpose-built lookups pull the answer from your live Sage 300 company.

04

Get a clear answer

The assistant replies in plain language, or with a report PDF when you need a document.

04  /  Built for Sage

It understands how Sage 300 works.

Your numbers come out the way your accountant would count them.

01

Orders aren’t sales

An order is a promise and an invoice is a sale.

How Metabox counts

Sales totals use posted invoices minus credit notes, net of discounts and before tax. Orders that were never invoiced aren’t counted.

02

Available means available

Stock that’s already promised to another customer’s order isn’t free to sell.

How Metabox counts

Available is on hand minus committed, shown for each location.

03

Knows the Sage data dictionary

Sage column names are hard to guess.

How Metabox counts

A built-in dictionary based on Sage’s 2022 object model, checked against your live database, describes every table and field before a custom query runs.

04

More than one company

Many Sage sites run several companies.

How Metabox counts

Every lookup uses your default company unless you name another one.

Read-only by design

Metabox MCP can’t change anything in Sage. Custom queries accept only SELECT statements, and the database login has no write permission. Changes still happen in Metabox or in Sage itself.

Answers from your live data

Every answer is read from your Sage 300 company when you ask, not from an export or a copy that can go stale.
